First impression

I was as you thought

– predictable.

 

that first impression

right except

-ing rough edges.

 

I kept on threatening

to be myself

but faltered in the act.

 

I made my excuses:

the lack of

time money energy.

 

It was wasted breath

to the man who sees all

as he decided.
