Verse 25: Homecoming

It’s the simplicity of
a door opening to greet
a dog arching its back
in the air. There is a music.

The chorus of the homecoming
again; life returning you whole.
Pocket the key. Embed it deeper
than an email attachment.

Embrace and forget once more.
Night is becoming in the city
The hot water bottle is buried
in the bed, your toes itch for it.
